Activities
At CIS, we provide a diverse selection of over 30 engaging after-school activities designed for students in grades 1–12. Our extensive program includes creative and physical outlets, such as Dance, Hip-Hop, Parkour, Mini Tennis, Martial Arts, and Gymnastics, alongside a range of hands-on and skill-building options like Arts & Crafts, Drawing Studio, Knitting, Conscious Cooking, STEM, LEGO Club, and more. Physical and Health Focused Activities
Gymnastics
Students delve into various forms of gymnastics, including different styles. Each session introduces new equipment and exercises that challenge and engage young athletes, helping them build strength, flexibility and coordination in a fun and supportive environment.
Introduction to Martial Arts
Our Martial Arts class introduces the basics of judo, boxing, and kickboxing. Through these forms, students develop strength, coordination, and discipline while learning essential values of respect and self-control. Each class emphasizes teamwork, safety, and personal growth.
Self-Defence for Girls
Designed to build confidence and prepare young girls for real-life situations, this self-defence class teaches practical techniques and fosters a sense of community. Students will learn situational awareness, develop assertive body language, and gain a greater sense of personal security.
Mini Tennis Club
The Mini Tennis program is focused on hand-eye coordination and fundamental tennis skills in a fun, structured environment. With plenty of encouragement and guidance, students enjoy a fantastic introduction to tennis, setting the stage for a lifelong love of the sport.
Parkour
Parkour teaches students to navigate obstacles by jumping, climbing, and rolling in both urban and natural settings. This activity emphasises speed, efficiency, and agility, helping students gain confidence, fitness, and a sense of accomplishment in a supportive space.
Science-Based Adventures
STEM Club
The STEM Club merges science, technology, engineering, and art in exciting projects. Students will conduct hands-on experiments, build structures, program robots, and even create video games, gaining an understanding of how the world works through fun and innovation.
Chess Club
This club invites students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills through chess. With strategy games and puzzles, students learn to plan, think creatively, and practice patience in a friendly, competitive environment.
Creative and Artistic Outlets
Arts & Crafts
Through painting, drawing, and collage, students explore famous art styles and techniques, from early art movements to modern design. This hands-on, project-based class lets students express themselves while learning about various artistic disciplines.
Digital Design
Digital Design introduces graphic design fundamentals using popular tools like Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud. Students will learn about photo editing, layout design, and illustration through individual projects, encouraging creativity and technical skills.
Hand Lettering & Modern Calligraphy
In this course, students discover the art of hand lettering and modern calligraphy. By practising the art of beautiful writing, students develop fine motor skills, creative thinking, and a mindful approach to art that emphasises simplicity and precision.
Knitting Club
This relaxing club teaches students the timeless skill of knitting. Beginners and seasoned knitters alike will create personal projects, developing skills like pattern reading and hand-eye coordination in a supportive and social setting.
Watercolor Studio
This studio introduces watercolour techniques such as colour mixing, layering, and contrast. Students gain a foundational understanding of watercolour while exploring both realistic and abstract styles in a creative and supportive environment.
Songwriting & Music Production
Aspiring musicians explore the songwriting process from lyrics to studio production. Students will compose, refine, and record their creations, gaining experience in expressing themselves through music and building confidence as young artists.
Musical Adventures
This program brings music to life through storytelling, singing, and instrument practice. Young students learn rhythm, music notation, and keyboard basics, making this class a joyful, immersive introduction to the world of music.
Yarn Club
In this calm, creative space, students learn knitting, crochet, and weaving. Together, they’ll create items like headbands and small bags, practising fine motor skills while developing a craft they can enjoy for life.
LEGO Club
LEGO Club lets students build imaginative creations while exploring stop-motion filming. This activity encourages teamwork and creativity as students bring their ideas to life, crafting stories brick by brick.
Culinary and Cultural Exploration
Mother Tongue Program
At CIS, we are proud to offer a Mother Tongue Program for students who want to nurture and grow their native language skills. This program is thoughtfully designed to build on students’ existing language foundations, ensuring that while they make a new home in Denmark, they maintain a strong connection to their cultural and linguistic heritage. Our program celebrates linguistic diversity and provides students with a valuable space to enhance their language abilities in an engaging, supportive environment.
Conscious Cooking
In our Conscious Kitchen, students explore plant-based, nutritious cooking. This hands-on class encourages young chefs to experiment with fresh ingredients and learn to make healthy, delicious dishes while developing lifelong skills and healthy eating habits.
Pasta Workshop
Students learn the art of pasta-making, from crafting the perfect dough to creating a variety of pasta shapes and filled pastas. Each session covers sauce pairing, pasta cooking techniques, and the joy of creating homemade pasta to share with friends and family.
Private Lessons
For students seeking individualised support or a customised learning approach, CIS also offers private language lessons. These lessons cater to unique language goals and provide tailored instruction from skilled language educators, empowering students to advance at their own pace and deepen their language proficiency.
After School Club
ASC is our dedicated after-school childcare program designed to provide a safe, supervised, and engaging environment for students after regular school hours. ASC supports both parents and students by offering a well-rounded mix of activities that foster social interaction, creativity, and exploration. Our program includes diverse activities in arts, cooking, science, and free play, creating an enriching space where students can unwind and enjoy themselves after the school day.
After-School Supervision
For Primary students up to Grade 4, Student Life Supervisors ensure comprehensive supervision between the school’s end and the start of after-school activities (ASA) or indoor sports. Our ASA Supervision Coordinator and instructors are dedicated to maintaining a safe, structured environment from 15:00 until parents assume responsibility at each activity’s conclusion. With this continuous care, ASC guarantees a smooth transition between school and ASA, giving parents peace of mind.
