Admission of Students Needing Student Support

At Copenhagen International School (CIS), we believe in nurturing the unique potential of every student. Our comprehensive Student Support Program is designed to meet diverse needs, ensuring that all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within our inclusive community.

Committed to inclusive practices, CIS uses a holistic admissions process to establish whether we can effectively meet each student’s needs. Families of applicants with learning support needs will be asked to provide any and all documentation detailing the applicant’s needs prior to admission.

Based on this documentation, the level of service needed will be determined by the Director of Student Support at CIS.   The potential of the school to support the level of need determined for each student will influence the admission decision.



The 4 steps to apply to CIS

1. Book a tour

Moving to a new school is a daunting process for any family, but we’re on hand to support you from the beginning. Start by booking a tour of the school either online or in person with our admissions team. This is where you’ll get a chance to see if CIS is the right school environment for your child and to ask us any questions that you may have

2. Submit an application

If you would like to join us at CIS, the next step is to submit an online application. You can find this on our website, or by contacting the admissions office. As part of the application process you will be asked to submit various documentation and pay an application fee of 3,000 DKK.

3. Application review

Once your application has been submitted, it will be reviewed by the Principals for your child(ren)’s grade. We will review each application holistically, taking into consideration all aspects that may affect your child(ren)’s experience here, for example, proficiency in English, learning support requirements, etc. We want to be sure we can provide the best possible experience for you and your child, and our review process is where we assess this.

4. Secure your place

The final step in the admissions process will be to accept or decline your offer. If you decide to accept an offer to join CIS, you will be asked to secure your place with a 30,000 DKK registration fee. Once this has been paid, you are officially registered and our admissions team will guide you step-by-step through the enrollment process.
