Waiting pool priority groups
Whenever it is not possible to accommodate all qualified applicants due to limited space availability, a waiting pool of applications will be created.
CIS will draw from this pool based on the priority groups listed below, as well as on a review of all applications to determine those students we feel can best benefit from a CIS education.
Priority 1
- Returning students who are currently enrolled and who confirm their re-enrollment in writing to the Admissions Office by the re-enrollment deadline (communicated every year by the Admissions Office)
Priority 2
- CIS Scholarship students
- Siblings of currently enrolled students
Priority 3
- Applicants affiliated with diplomatic missions, governmental and non-governmental organisations operating in Copenhagen
- Applicants affiliated with multinational corporations operating in Copenhagen
- Applicants who are the children of CIS Alumni
Priority 4
- Former CIS students who left Denmark to study abroad and are returning or the ones who have attended Danish efterskole
- Students transferring from other IB Schools outside of Denmark
Priority 5
- Other qualified applicants
The 4 steps to apply to CIS
1. Book a tour
Moving to a new school is a daunting process for any family, but we’re on hand to support you from the beginning. Start by booking a tour of the school either online or in person with our admissions team. This is where you’ll get a chance to see if CIS is the right school environment for your child and to ask us any questions that you may have.
2. Submit an application
If you would like to join us at CIS, the next step is to submit an online application. You can find this on our website, or by contacting the admissions office. As part of the application process you will be asked to submit various documentation and pay an application fee of 3,000 DKK.
3. Application review
Once your application has been submitted, it will be reviewed by the Principals for your child(ren)’s grade. We will review each application holistically, taking into consideration all aspects that may affect your child(ren)’s experience here, for example, proficiency in English, learning support requirements, etc. We want to be sure we can provide the best possible experience for you and your child, and our review process is where we assess this.
4. Secure your place
The final step in the admissions process will be to accept or decline your offer. If you decide to accept an offer to join CIS, you will be asked to secure your place with a 40,000 DKK registration fee. Once this has been paid, you are officially registered and our admissions team will guide you step-by-step through the enrollment process.
