*Please note that the Pre-kindergarten classes have a flexible drop off time until 8:45.
We also offer free of charge after-school care for Pre-Kindergarten students till 5pm.

No, CIS does not offer boarding facilities.
Yes, students start at all times of the year, where we have availability. As an international school we operate rolling admissions to accommodate families that move at times that do not coincide with the start of our school year.
There are no deadlines for applications, you can apply at any time during the year. Before you apply, please check with the admissions office about place availability.
CIS offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma program for the final two years of high school, grades 11 and 12. Therefore, your child can finish their studies at CIS if they have already taken IB courses in grade 11 which match the IB courses CIS offer.
A place is only guaranteed once you have received an official acceptance letter from the school and you have completed the registration process in full. Each application undergoes a review from the school principals, who will ensure that CIS is the best fit for your child based on the documentation that you supply with your application.

Yes, CIS offers a rich selection of sports and fun activities for students in Kindergarten and above.
The Orientkaj metro station is across the street from our school, and there is on-site parking just in front of the (though, please note that the parking is owned by the municipality and you have to pay to use it). There is also a brand new harbour boat that stops right outside the school. Many students also choose to bike to school and we have plenty of parking spots for your bike should you wish to do the same.
We work with over 17 municipalities, but the majority of our families live in either Copenhagen or Hellerup. If you are planning to live in a different municipality, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Admissions team who will be able to help you with any questions relating to subsidies or transport.
Yes, we have a fantastic canteen offering a wide range of healthy food and drinks. It is also perfectly fine should you choose to send your child with a packed lunch.
Yes! We have a wonderful PTA association who organise all kinds of community events to help you feel at home here at CIS and in Denmark. Alongside that you are always welcome into the school to have a coffee or to join one of our parent-led fitness classes on campus.
As long as needed. That said, most six year olds make the transition mostly independently and within a couple of days. Four year olds, especially those who have been in school, also often make the transition in a few days. Three year olds can take longer. We have had some children on half days for a while, depending on their needs. This is more likely with younger children.
