Copenhagen International School serves the educational needs of a diverse international community of students aged 34 months – 18 years, and their families. Admission at CIS is non-discriminatory and open to all students. To maintain the international composition of the CIS student body, no single nationality may exceed 25% of the schoolwide population.
All prospective students are encouraged to apply, with the recognition that no single nationality may exceed 25% of the schoolwide population. All applicants will be considered unless there is reason to believe that admission is not in the best interest of the applicant or the school (please refer to the criteria of admissions listed below). Applications for admission will be accepted throughout the year, depending on space availability.
The CIS Admissions Office will be happy to introduce your family to the community and the learning experience at the school. To begin the conversation, fill out the inquiry form on the school’s website, and a member of the Admissions Team will contact you with answers to your questions or an invitation for a school tour. You can also email the Admissions Office directly at admissions@cis.dk.
To arrange a visit, please confirm the date and time of the meeting with the Admissions office in an email conversation. During your meeting, you will be provided with all the information that you might need, and offer a guided tour of the school campus. Please reserve 60 to 90 minutes for the campus tour.

1. Book a tour
Moving to a new school is a daunting process for any family, but we’re on hand to support you from the beginning. Start by booking a tour of the school either online or in person with our admissions team. This is where you’ll get a chance to see if CIS is the right school environment for your child and to ask us any questions that you may have.
2. Submit an application
If you would like to join us at CIS, the next step is to submit an online application. You can find this on our website, or by contacting the admissions office. As part of the application process you will be asked to submit various documentation and pay an application fee of 3,000 DKK.
3. Application review
Once your application has been submitted, it will be reviewed by the Principals for your child(ren)’s grade. We will review each application holistically, taking into consideration all aspects that may affect your child(ren)’s experience here, for example, proficiency in English, learning support requirements, etc. We want to be sure we can provide the best possible experience for you and your child, and our review process is where we assess this.
4. Secure your place
The final step in the admissions process will be to accept or decline your offer. If you decide to accept an offer to join CIS, you will be asked to secure your place with a 40,000 DKK registration fee. Once this has been paid, you are officially registered and our admissions team will guide you step-by-step through the enrollment process.
