Director’s Welcome

Whether you are visiting our campus in person or exploring from afar, I want to warmly welcome you to Copenhagen International School.
At CIS, we are guided by a mission to educate champions of a just and sustainable world. That mission is a living promise found in the daily collaboration, choices, and aspirations of our students and educators.
We are a founding school of the International Baccalaureate offering the full IB continuum. From our curious three-year-olds to our confident eighteen-year-olds, our world-class campus is filled with the vibrant energy of young adults learning not just how to succeed, but learning to grow with compassion and integrity — inspiring one another to care deeply, think critically, and act with purpose.
What makes CIS special isn’t just our consistently excellent academic results. It is the way we care for one another. Each child is unique, and we embrace that uniqueness with joy. Our community values inclusion, respects differences, and creates a safe, nurturing environment where each student feels seen, supported, and genuinely celebrated. Belonging is essential to how we live and learn together.
We foster creativity in how students think, how they express themselves, and how they collaborate — finding new solutions to real-world problems. We nurture integrity in every relationship, and we encourage growth in all its forms — personal, academic, emotional, and ethical.
CIS is a place where diversity isn’t just welcomed, it is woven into the fabric of who we are. With more than 900 students representing nearly 80 nationalities, our community reflects the beautiful complexity of the world our students will one day lead.
Whether you’re learning about our story, attending an event, exploring our website, or walking through our world-class facilities, I hope you sense what we do — that CIS is more than a school. We are a learning community rooted in compassion, fueled by creativity, driven by growth, and joined together by a shared commitment to inclusion, integrity, and belonging.
Welcome
