Sustainability at CIS

Our mission at CIS is to educate champions of a just and sustainable world. Sustainability is in our DNA, and reflected in almost everything we do.

Sustainability is what guides the direction and development of our school, and we take great pride in being accredited by CHORA 2030. This accreditation means that we are committed to working strategically and ambitiously in supporting the UN’s global goals.

The United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals permeate our entire school, both at the curriculum and strategic level, and are central to all of the decisions we make.

These goals have been integrated into our curriculum, and guide the topics chosen for the Grade 5 Exhibition and the MYP Personal Project. Additionally, these goals inspire Service Learning Projects at the school and are the foundation for student-led assemblies. Below, you’ll see how CIS is integrating some of these goals into our every day lives.
