As the IB Diploma is an academically demanding programme, and as our purpose in giving scholarships is to attract very able students into the programme who might otherwise not be able to attend our school, academic abilities are given priority in the first part of the scholarship process, the scholarship exams. All scholarship applicants will be expected to take two exams, one in English, one in Maths, each exam lasting one hour.
Once students have completed scholarship exam papers in English and Math, our Subject Coordinators in English and Maths will grade the papers, and decide which applicants will be invited to attend an interview.
It must be stressed that our primary academic interest is how students perform on the scholarship exams, and NOT on how well they may have done in school prior to the start of the scholarship process. For students applying for Arts and Sustainability scholarships, we balance our academic expectations against other elements of their applications.
