6th graders conduct eggciting eggsperiments

“The egg drop experiment was inspired by NASA and the launch of the Perseverance Rover to Mars,” explains Noor. “Our mission was to recreate a soft landing, like the one required to land on the surface of Mars using an egg. I wrapped my egg in bubble wrap and small balloons and we are going to drop it, first from the school entrance steps and if the egg does not break, from the top of the middle school tower.”

Wonder why students are on site instead of online? With the new guidelines from the Danish authorities in place, students can meet in small groups for learning outside, an opportunity science teacher Sheri immediately grabbed. The students explored how different materials behave and which work best for insulating the egg and protecting it from breaking.
