Imagination unit teaches Early Years’ kids to collaborate and negotiate

‘’What we want to see is how the children use their imagination when they are playing and when they are creating,’’ explains Pre-Kindergarten Teacher Paula. “What we want in the end is the good foundation of social skills, that they are able to work together and interact with each other. The sooner the children learn those skills, the sooner they know how to share and negotiate the ideas and take others perspectives. We observe what they are doing, we hear their stories and we use that to keep extending the way they are thinking. We use it to know where they are in their development. In that way, we keep pushing them forward in their development.’’
