Head of Community Relations
Copenhagen International School is seeking an enthusiastic and versatile professional to advance the mission of the school through strategic communication, marketing and effective leadership. This is a full-time permanent role that will be a part of the leadership team of this diverse, inclusive, international school.
The Head of Community relations role comprises both strategic and operational components, with responsibility for Admissions (with two full-time Admissions Coordinators), Business Development, Communications and Community Engagement.
This role is suitable for an experienced business development and communications professional, preferably in the education sector, with experience in marketing, customer service and/or admissions a plus. However, we appreciate this role is broad and requires a multi-faceted professional, whose background might be equally varied.
The successful candidate will be an articulate, persuasive and credible ambassador for Copenhagen International School, and will bring a broad area of expertise and a diplomatic mindset to the role. Further, you will know how to navigate safely in complex diverse organizations with many parallel agendas and numerous stakeholders. You demonstrate diplomacy, integrity and communication skills.
Responsible for communication, admissions and marketing at Copenhagen International School.
Responsible for creating and implementing the business development strategy in conjunction with the Director, in alignment with the school’s vision and mission.
Responsible for outreach to the local and international communities to ensure that the school is promoting and differentiating itself positively and productively.
Responsible for ensuring an excellent parent experience along every step of the journey from Awareness, Consideration, Commitment to Advocacy.
Your key responsibilities include:
External communication and liaison between CIS and others
Develop and maintain a continual stream of bi-directional communication with the local and international communities
Leverage school events and successes to strengthen the market position of CIS
Maintain a liaison with Danish schools and Danish educational authorities
Development and Advancement
- Maintain regular contact with individuals who influence school choice for others:
- HR departments at international companies and organizations
- Management officers at embassies
- Major relocation companies and their representatives
- Agencies working for the promotion of international business in Denmark
- Explore and develop alternative revenue sources in the form of grants, partnerships and donations
- Initiate new corporate relationships for the school, internationally and locally
- Ensure alumni remain an active part of the school community
Lead the Admissions department consisting of two full-time Admission Coordinators to ensure excellent customer service
Liaise with the CFO to ensure accuracy of admissions records and reports
Marketing and Branding
Develop and lead the marketing strategy for Copenhagen International School
Ensure that marketing output is promoting CIS effectively
Coordinate public relations within Denmark and internationally
Liaise with the Marketing sub-committee of the Board
Contribute positively to the leadership team of the school
Leadership experience combined operational and development responsibilities
Solid and broad-based knowledge of communication, marketing and business development
Several years of experience from complex organizations with many different cultures
Experience of planning, reporting and budget management
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Ability to communicate in English and Danish
